When Tech N9ne arrived in Tucson, he didn’t just bring fans a hip hop show, he brought them the ultimate Strange Music party. The Lost Cities Tour, which features Flawless, Jay Rock, Krizz Kaliko, and Kutt Calhoun, took over the Rialto Theatre in Tucson for a night of explosive performances. Jason Krell of DailyWildcat.com attended the spectacle and watched in awe as the hardest working man in hip hop put on a one of a kind show for his loyal fans. Reviewing the show, Jason wrote:

“It’s obvious Tech knows how to put on a show. His label, Strange Music, is overflowing with talent and his technicians — a nickname for his fans — are some of the most dedicated followers in music. What it boils down to, in the end, is that if you are just now discovering your fandom of Tech N9ne, you’re about 13 years too late to the party.”

As one of Tech’s biggest markets, Tucson has clearly earned its place inside Strangeland. Click here to read the full review.

As we recently reported, Tech N9ne’s stage show during The Lost Cities Tour went through a major overhaul only a week into the tour. In an attempt to please his fans, Tech even took to Twitter to explain just why he chose to change his show and why it is that he started off by performing the All 6′s And 7′s Tour show. While taking a break from the tour in San Diego, we caught up with Tech N9ne and asked him to elaborate on the new stage show.

Why did you decide to change your show a week into the tour?

The thing was, like I said on Twitter, I was working at home a lot on the Welcome to Strangeland album. It was an intricate album, I worked up to the wire on it. The means it only left us with two days to rehearse, and the show was too intricate to have two rehearsals and then go out and do it. So I said, “We weren’t ready.” So I started doing the All 6’s And 7’s line up, the same show. We were practicing like every day, but I knew it would take like a week before we got it. We wanted to do it in Oklahoma, but we weren’t ready. When we got to Austin, I still didn’t think we were ready, but all those cities we had before Austin had never seen the show, so it was fair game. Some of the people that were coming, came to the last shows, so they were making comments, “It’s the same line up.” I just wanted to explain to the fans that I was just trying to get it perfect before it hit anybody, so we did it in Austin for the first time and I was just surprised that we were so good at it, at that first time, and it was in front of my band, Dirty Wormz, so I was nervous. The mutherfuckers are on point, I didn’t want to be off point in front of the band, you know. It went good and we’ve been doing it ever since. Before this tour went out, I did the new show, I put the new show together, but it was so super intricate that we didn’t have time to practice it, so once we got practiced up, I did it. That’s why it changed.

Is it perfected by now?

Totally. I’m still getting better with it. All the Choppers together are almost impossible to do, but I’m doing it better and better every night. By the end of this week, I’m sure I’ll have it down pat perfectly. ”Beautiful Music” is getting better and better because it’s a intricate song to do [spits intro to “Beautiful Music”] just that first line is impossible. It’s getting better and better every night, I’m having fun doing it. The Choppers are kind of scary because you have to say everything perfect. The first one, I’ve been doing for a while so that’s cool, but when I come to the first four bars of the second one [spits “Midwest Choppers 2”] you gotta say all that right man. That first whole line is not a breath, it just don’t stop, it’s almost impossible. We challenge ourselves and it’s been going pretty damn good.

How difficult was it to change the show when you were already a week into the tour?

It’s not. It wasn’t difficult. Travis was calling me like, “Tech man, we gotta get that new show on them”, and I’m like, “Travis, we ain’t ready yet. The guys don’t really know all the new music and I don’t know none of there stuff.” I been really working, right after All 6’s And 7’s I started right in on Welcome To Strangeland. I haven’t been studying Red-Headed Stepchild like I should because I been working, or all the stuff Krizz got. I didn’t mind switching it up because it was a relief, I wanted to appease the fans, all of them. I knew that this new show would. I know that me doing All 6’s And 7’s show, even though they said they would still come, they already paid to see this, it ain’t fair to them so I couldn’t wait to change it.

Is there a song that you get tired of performing?

“Midwest Choppers“ , you know what I’m saying? It’s just so many words, it’s just so much man. It’s hard to do my job man. People say I have a blessed job, but what we do on stage, it’s hard to do what I do. It’s insanely hard to do what I do. To do “He’s A Mental Giant” and everything be perfect, to do any of the Choppers and be perfect, to do “This Ring” or “Red Nose” [spits flow]. Staying on beat and everything, it takes skill man, it’s hard to do what I do. That’s why people commend me for doing it, like, “How does he jump around and do all that shit?” It’s hard to do what I do, you know what I mean. Extremely.

Out of the new songs you’ve been performing, which is your favorite?

“Beautiful Music” and “He’s A Mental Giant”, oh my goodness. “He’s A Mental Giant” and “Beautiful Music” are by far my favorites on this one. What I open with, the two that I open with that are brand new off of All 6’s And 7’s, they go really hard. I’m enjoying them a lot more as I do them. If you know what they are, you know what I come out to, but for those who don’t know, I don’t want to give it away. I’m sure all you gotta do is go on you tube or something like that and get the line up, you know what I mean.

For fans all over the country, The Lost Cities Tour is another great opportunity to live through the experience of a live Tech N9ne show. The theatrics, excitement, and overall electric atmosphere is enough to keep fans buzzing in the crowd. While the concert itself is what draws people in, it’s Strange Music’s unique VIP packages that keep them coming back. The exclusive VIP packages offered by Strange Music are unlike anything else out there. Just as the name indicates, fans are treated to a special VIP experience that includes an hour long meet and greet with every artist on the tour. If that wasn’t enough, the package also includes admission and over $300 in merchandise. As fans ponder whether or not to purchase a VIP package, dedicated Technicians like John Werking have decided to share their opinion on The Lost Cities VIP.

After receiving his VIP package in the mail, John Werking explained what it was that made him want to go with a VIP experience:

“I purchased the VIP package for three reasons, the first being to support Tech N9ne, of course, the second being the merchandise to have and to flash to all my friends, third being, along with all the merchandise I get, I get to meet Tech before the show!! The best part of the package!!! The VIP package is something to consider if you’re a hardcore fan of Tech N9ne and want to have this memory forever.”

The Lost Cities Tour VIP includes great merchandise items like the Strange Music drawstring bag, Strange Music water bottle, and even a Strange Music CD wallet. John went on to tell us what his favorite item was and what he thought the fans would like about the merchandise:

“If I had to choose one item in the VIP package that I enjoy the most it is more than likely the giant flag. I can hang it in my room and represent Tech even when I sleep. $125 for the VIP package was more than worth it, I don’t regret it and when Strange Music comes back into my town I’ll buy the next VIP package. I think fans are going to enjoy the t-shirts or backpack the most because those items can advertise their enjoyment of Strange Music.”

As for fans who haven’t yet decided to go with VIP, John has something to say to them as well:

“If you haven’t already bought the VIP package, do it now. Is it worth it? More than your next rent bill. Support Tech and all the Strange Music members, and enjoy the music that’s going to change everything forever.”

In an unexpected move, Tech N9ne recently took to Twitter to speak directly to his fans concerning his stage show on The Lost Cities Tour. As many fans had already discovered, Tech’s stage show for the new tour was taken from the All 6′s And 7′s Tour. Amidst some complaints from fans, Tech revealed the reason for the unchanged show, explaining that the recording process for Welcome To Strangeland did not allow sufficient time for a new show to be rehearsed.

Regardless, Tech was not about to let his fans down. A week into the tour, Tech confirmed that he had worked on a brand new stage show that would be debuted while out on the road. The new show would include hits from All 6′s And 7′s and even a special medley of all of the Choppers songs. The daring move not only caught everyone by surprise, but also gave fans a new reason to hit The Lost Cities Tour this fall. Once again proving his love for the fans, Tech N9ne now rolls on with a completely new show for The Lost Cities Tour.
