The 2011 Strange Music MVP Awards and SM Live UStream broadcast got a lot more than it bargained for when Tech N9ne walked into the proceedings! Braving the side-effects of morphine (doctor’s orders due to the two ribs that he cracked as a result as a long helicopter fall in Kuwait during his USO tour), Tech N9ne still showed up to support his fellow 816 Boy Makzilla during his live broadcast. The broadcast saw an increase of 200 viewers during Tech’s appearance alone, which only added to the madness and comedy of a regular episode of SM Live.

Highlights of Tech’s appearance include:

• A rare appearance by Strange Music CEO Travis O’Guin.
• Tech reciting the “Cha Cha Slide” during a call from Cha Cha, an avid listener and fan of SM Live.
• The invention of the new catch-phrase that encompasses money-making at it’s finest: “Abu Dhabi”.

Tech celebrated the right way by unveiling another drink he invented: the Ghettosa (a ghetto version of mimosas). With co-host CJ Ridgley, Tech carried through the proceedings with a smile on his face as he ushered in his biggest album yet: All 6′s and 7′s. Tech took the time out of his insanely busy schedule to he could kick it with the fans during this historical occasion, as he would rather share drinks with the Technicians that got him to the top more than anyone else. Tech answered questions from fans and talked about the various songs on the album and their creation (including the ORIGINAL hook for “F**K Food” and how T-Pain changed it).

Yelawolf, who is one of the Choppers featured on the song, Skyped in towards the beginning of the broadcast, but due to technical difficulties, was only able to stay on the line for a little while. During the track’s play, the social stream of fans across the world scrolled almost as fast as the spitters featured on the song. While the song played you could see everyone responding at a rapid pace, commenting on who’s verse was was being heard. So many people tuned in that they played the song THREE times and also snuck in “I Love Music”, which features Kendrick Lamar and Oobergeek, also set to be released on All 6′s and 7′s.

Tech explained how everyone laid their verse down, describing a funny story behind Busta Rhymes verse. As it tuns out, Rhymes got the track with Tech’s verse recorded, and called Tech to ask “Who were those five niggas you got on there!?” It turns out it was just Tech the whole time, to which Busta replied “You’s a crazy nigga son!”

Tech went on to talk about the upcoming album: explaining the meaning behind the title, commenting on the features (Jay Rock, B.o.B., Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Mint Condition, members of Deftones, and more), and also the production behind the album.

The song “So Lonely” was mentioned, a song that was supposed to feature Eminem, but due to deadlines did not. The song almost got disposed of until Tech found out about Blind Fury, the skilled battle MC who was crowned Freestyle Friday champ on 106 and Park. Tech was so impressed that he threw Blind Fury on the track, resulting in one more gem for the fans come June 7, 2011 (the release date for All 6′s and 7′s).

Tech mentioned that an “Areola” t-shirt will be for sale at his upcoming All 6′s and 7′s Tour, which should quickly become a fan favorite for the staple song that comes towards the end of every show.

Before he left, Tech was sure to mention Big Scoob’s Damn Fool, citing that “Drunk and Stupid” was a song that has garnered a lot of positive fan response. Vanessa Satten, Editor-in-Chief at XXL Magazine, mentioned that she thought “White Bitch” was an “interesting” song and one that she had liked.

- “Worldwide Choppers” already features Yelawolf.  Busta Rhymes currently has the track and is almost ready to lay down his verse.  Song might be submitted to Twista among others.
- “Pornographic” is a song he wants to give to Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg.
- Album title comes from playing craps.  Whenever someone is at 6s and 7s, you’re putting all your money on one thing and you have to be insane to put all your money on that.  ”In a state of confusion and disarray, which is where I am mentally and spiritually.
- The title was supposed to be a tattoo first, similar to Anghellic.
- 816 Boyz WILL appear on All 6s and 7s.
- To be released on June 7 (6/7/11)
- Willpower, Yelawolf’s producer, makes an appearance and produced the track that Tech plays at the end, “Delusional”.
