‘Pow Pow’ Featuring Riv Locc [Song]

Tech N9ne’s latest release in the “Collabos” series, The Gates Mixed Plate, features the track, “Pow Pow” featuring Riv Locc.  You may already be familiar with Riv Locc from the song, “Calm Down” from Kutt Calhoun’s latest release, Raw and Un-Kutt and the  “Colors” track off of Kutt’s sophomore release, Feature Presentation.

Here is some more info on Riv Locc taken from his Myspace page:

You may have to listen twice to catch all the metaphors this prolific up and coming star will throw at you. There is no doubt that “Rivlocc” will soon take the music scene by storm. Representing Kansas City, Missouri, the “ Go-Getta” is bringing his originality and realness to the game. This lyrical assassin speaks from the soul and therefore captivates his audiences and keeps them longing to hear what he will say next. His intelligence and wisdom which may otherwise be overlooked is portrayed through his lyrics and demands great admiration. Born and raised through the metro district of Kansas City, he moved more than fast enough to obtain the “Go -Getta”. He was first featured on Macc James “Premeditated” at the rebellious age of 16, which did an exceptional job on a local scale. He also appeared on “Undertaccuz” which Chop It Up Clicc dropped in late 1999. He later performed from behind the walls of the “State Penitentiary” to later opening up for industrial artist such as “Chingy”, “Juelz Santana”, “Mims”, etc. Incarcerated from 2001-2004, Riv says being isolated from society enhanced the degree of his lyrics. He exited the “state pen” with a unique sense of ambition and a overwhelming sense to grasp success. Upon his release in July 05, “4much” was released an made a euphoric impact on Kansas City. He has since performed with numerous artists.. Currently representing Vertigo Records., he is the most seasoned on the label alongside his little brother “ boy genius”……

‘Keep It One Hunit’ Featuring Glasses Malone [Song]

Tech N9ne’s latest release in the “Collabos” series, The Gates Mixed Plate, includes the track, “Keep It One Hunit” featuring Glasses Malone. The track also features Irv Da Phenom and Strange’s own, Big Scoob.

Here is more info about Glasses Malone taken from Myspace:

When rap is at its best, it is cinematic. That’s because rap hits hardest when it is like an audio movie that takes you to the block, the club, the bedroom — or on a journey through the highs and lows life supplies. On his major label debut album, 29-year-old underground rap sensation Glasses Malone delivers a sonic opus that features the Watts, CA lyricist offering a conceptual gem.
By 2004, his underground material had impressed Dr. Dre and The Game enough to earn him a spot with The Game, a position only strengthened with Glasses’ subsequent White Lightening mix-tape. “That’s what really built me up on the West Coast,” Glasses says. “People started latching on to it. The Game, that’s a part of my history and he influenced my music a lot at the time. Dude’s success played a big part in my success.”
Glasses had always listened to music with more passion than most given his mother’s infatuation with tunes. He started battle rapping when his friends started doing the same, using his admiration for Westside Connection, N.W.A, Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel as lyrical inspiration. G noticed rapping kept him from getting in as much trouble — and that people thought that he was talented.

But the other side of his parents’ lives rubbed off on Glasses once he hit eleventh grade. They were both hustlers, and when his mother was incarcerated, G went to live with his father. “I witnessed losing everything, then getting everything again, then losing everything again kinda early,” he says. Feeling like he needed something to do, he started selling drugs and gangbanging. He earned the handle Glasses because of his poor eyesight and was given the Malone surname by a big homie who simply felt it fit.

If it sounds like Glasses Malone’s Beach Cruiser: The Story could be the album of the year you’re on to something — and Baby, Mack 10, Lil Wayne, Dr. Dre and The Game have been among his many legendary co-signers. Beach crusiers, the stylistic, long-standing bikes popular in Southern California, serve as a metaphor for G’s music and his album. “No matter how many bicycles come out, beach cruisers will always be there and that’s kind of what I wanted my music to represent,” Glasses says. “I want it to have the same staying power as a beach cruiser does. And, the beach cruiser represents the West Coast. It’s gangster. It’s smooth. It’s steady. It’s classic.”

Growing up, Glasses Malone (born Charles Penniman) was in line to get involved in academics, not the streets or a gang — and certainly not the rap world. His mother owned a house in Compton and his father owned a house in Watts. He was a strong student, going through high school with a 3.5 GPA and scoring a robust 1320 on his SAT.

The Gates Mixed Plate, Tech N9ne’s latest release, features the singles “O.G.” and “Jumpin’ Jax”.  Tech’s third release in a series of collaborative studio projects coined “Collabos”, features Devin The Dude, Glasses Malone, Jay Rock, Yukmouth and many others. The Gates Mixed Plate is available in stores now.

Several Tracks On The Gates Mixed Plate Feature Irv Da Phenom

Tech N9ne’s latest album in the “Collabos” series, The Gates Mixed Plate, includes the tracks, “Need More Angels”, “Keep It One Hunit”, “Loud” and “Oh You Didn’t Know” featuring Irv Da Phenom. Irv has collaborated with Strange Music Artists on several projects including; Monterifik, Big Scoob’s first solo project with Strange, Kutt Calhoun’s latest release, Raw And Un-Kutt, as well as Tech N9ne’s latest solo project, K.O.D..

Here is more info taken from Irv’s Myspace:

When’s the last time you went to see your favorite artist live and left like “damn, that stage show was the truth”, or “wow his vocals are actually better in person!”? Now weigh it against the times you’ve left saying “I can’t believe I paid 60 dollars 2 watch him hold his nuts and yell for an hour.” That’s just disrespectful to the fans. What happened 2 giving quality product? It all boils down to quality customer service. Im a fan myself so from the albums 2 the stage, I give them that same quality that I would expect. – IRV DA PHENOM’
Soooo, I do music, but im sure u knew that when the song kicked in soon as my page loaded. Yes I rap. Yes I sing as well. No I am not old enough 2 buy liquor yet. I am also a writer…I grew up listening 2 a range of music. The first tape that I purchased was the n*sync single “drive me crazy”. Lol. I then ventured into the world of hip-hop with twista, the wutang clan, and my mentor TECH N9NE. These and many other artists ranging from heavy metal 2 old school soul (it would take me like 12 pages 2 list them all) have molded what I know as GOOD music. My whole outlook on music is called “HUMAN” so when im put in a genre I would prefer that it’s “HUMAN” as apposed 2 hip-hop, soul, or R&B….all of which are a part of human music.

WHAT THE @*% IS “HUMAN MUSIC”?

All right check it out, I think of every thing in terms of music. So during every day of my life, there is a soundtrack going on in my head depending on the situation. So say you just got a raise on the job, which would call for something real victorious, Say queen’s we are the champions, or say your with your lady friend…and trying 2 set the mood, nothing better than some Marvin Gaye. Ok now you have on your new all white kicks at the club and some d-bag blatantly steps on them. Im sure this is a lil john or even heavy metal situation..lol the whole point is as a human being life is bigger than just one sound of music. No thug is a thug all of the time, you cant play ice cube 2 set the mood with your date..Lol! Im also pretty positive that if I where 2 touch al.b.sure’s curl back in the day, he wouldn’t have been so R&Bish So I do them all, and that’s human music.

BACKGROUND CHECK

Ok, I hail from Kansas city, also referred to as killa city (u can guess why) so wit that, there where a lot of opportunities 2 get myself killed or in jail b4 I graduated, but thank god for music, and common sense. Remember the kid back in high school who used 2 sell every known product known 2 man out of his backpack? I mean from honey buns, 2 electronics, even the occasional illegal substances, Yea, well that was me so I guess u could say im something like a hustler. I dropped my 1st cd entitled “U AINT HEARD?” in high school and bought my very first car off of the proceeds. Growing up ive never seen my pops work for anyone…so I guess you can blame him for my work ethic, I had my first job workin wit my pops @ the tire shop movin rims…lol, and im the oldest of 5 kids. So you could also say ive never really had it super gravy…but still I know ive been blessed. All of these things are the reason that I can never, EVER work a normal job, so here I am making this music 4 you.

LOL! Remember on blackplanet when you shouted everybody out?…we should get back 2 that..Lol……………
WHAT UPPER!: Craig smith, the wax factory, Greg enemy, tech, ponch, jazz, hanna, kali, Trevor, rob, kutt, .T.T.S., Paige, wakil, January, nesto, lou what it do, samara, pete, klak gang, drew, Jessica, JONES i see u, gotti whats poppin! Everybody checkin the shows and hittin up the page, much love!..Lol (u didn’t think I would do it did you?) –PHENOM’!

The Gates Mixed Plate, Tech N9ne’s latest release, features the singles “O.G.” and “Jumpin’ Jax”.  Tech’s third release in a series of collaborative studio projects coined “Collabos”, features Devin The Dude, Glasses Malone, Jay Rock, Yukmouth and many others. ‘Jumpin’ Jax’ And ‘Far Out’ Feature Stevie Stone [Song]

Tech N9ne’s latest album in the “Collabos” series, The Gates Mixed Plate, features Stevie Stone on the tracks “Jumpin’ Jax” and “Far Out”.

Here is more info about Stevie Stone taken from Reverb Nation:

Simmering deep in the middle of America is one of hip-hop’s best kept secrets. Poised and ready to dish and deliver is the 25-year-old Columbia, Missouri native nearly scientifically and all naturally composed of lyrical versatility, broad range, and diverse music. Liken him to hip-hop’s unprecedented bionic man, ready to leap through lyrics and bound through bass at any given moment. A hip-hop hero in the making, Stevie Stone is here to save the day. One spin around his aptly titled New Kid Comin’ album and you’ll understand why.

Before music became the center of his world, Stevie Stone was an enthusiastic baller, but not the type that immediately comes to mind. Instead of a preoccupation with “bling,” physical education ruled his world. As a child, his extracurricular time was usurped primarily by basketball and secondarily football. Stone was raised principally by his hard working mother along with his sisters but at the age of 13, he began spending time with his preacher father who resided in Iowa before passing some time ago. “I had my troubles for the most part, but my father really gave me balance and kept me doing productive stuff and going to church every Sunday,” Stone says about his early years. While Stone spent the majority of his free time active in athletics, music was always the underlying current in his life. “Music was really in my family. My mom plays the piano. My dad played the piano and all my siblings sing.” As Stone grew older and embarked on new paths, ripe with life altering decision making, hip-hop would become his sport of choice.

“Around high school, I was in between what I wanted to do. I had a scholarship to play basketball at a college in Iowa but music was pulling me,” Stone admits. It wasn’t until that fateful day in 2001 when Stone stepped on the stage and his future was ultimately determined for him. “It was the first time I performed at a live show,” Stone recollects, opening for several artists including fellow Missouri native Tech N9ne, with whom he would later establish a brotherhood bond.
“It was at the Fairgrounds in Fulton, Missouri and me and my clique got on because we knew the promoter of the show and had been making noise around town.” Stone felt the adrenaline of being on stage and everything else paled in comparison.
“Once we got done with the set, I knew it was what I wanted to do.” Days after the show, Stone and his friends paraded around their neighborhood like regional rap stars. Living off the rush, Stone was impatient for what was next. And then everything seemed to stand still.

“The next week had come along and nothing was moving and that’s when I realized I had to get out and do some more footwork,” Stone admits humbly. For the next two years, he would pound the pavement, performing at talent shows, booking small concerts at local venues like Columbia’s Blue Note where most big artists came when passing through the town, and strengthening relationships with area entertainment industry folks. Stone reunited with Tech9 along the way and opened for him as well as Snoop Dogg, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. As his popularity began to inflate, Stone made the decision to expand out to St. Louis. While recording at Phat Buddha studios in the Lou’, Stone was eventually recruited as an artist on their Fly Moves Production company roster. He soon recorded the battle anthem for the St. Louis Rams that was played in video and audio format at all the home games throughout the 2005-2006 season. In 2006, Stone traveled to Atlanta, after being accepted to showcase as an up and coming artist at the Billboard Hip-Hop and R&B Conference. It was there that Stone met Tomica Woods-Wright, CEO of the legendary Ruthless Records.
