What does Tech N9ne have in common with Magic Johnson?

They both made Billboard Magazine’s “Urban Power List” for 2012, a list of “the 25 most powerful players in [urban music], the men and women who define the game, direct its flow and determine its outcome.”

Tech N9ne made the illustrious list that includes the likes of Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Diddy, Magic Johnson, Steve Stoute, Rick Ross, and many more.

On Tech’s contributions to the game Billboard says:

Tech N9ne is still a hip-hop oddball, but his relentless, highly respected drive has made him a profitable one.

Ten years ago who would’ve thought that Tech N9ne would be recognized as a game-changing executive in the music business? Congratulations Tech!

    Tech isn’t the King of KC, he’s the King of Rap. Look at the facts. Everyone is surprised except everyone who has followed him. He’s stronger mentally than ever and that just translates to the material side of things. Anyone who “knows” Tech knows this isn’t a fluke. The Strange label has the most talent of ANY label out. Big record labels are failing, suing people for DL music and Tech and Strange are GIVING it away. And then turn around and sell more merchandise and shows then any of the other labels. The man gives and gives and NEVER says anything bad about other rappers. Promotes and supports not only his fellow label members as he would himself, but the whole hip hop industry. And then people are shocked to see this? The man’s lyrics are only matched by his character. There is no debate any longer, Tech and Strange are THE greatest in the rap game RIGHT NOW.
