Go for it! I’m not a fan of Lil Wayne, but I don’t hate him, either. He actually has some songs/verses I really like. And I’d be willing to hear a Tech N9ne & Lil Wayne collaboration…actually, I’m looking forward to it. That song’s gonna be incredible! (I just ask that it isn’t a club mix or anything like that, though I’d still be supportive if that were the case.) And, for real, who wouldn’t want Tecca Nina to go a step further into the mainstream? His stuff is what needs to be heard on the radio.

I’m not a fan of Lil Wayne. I can’t stand his style and I think his lyrics are weak. That said….I don’t give a fuck who Tech collabs with, true fans love his music because it’s beautiful, one collaboration isn’t changing a damn thing. I’m not going anywhere. I don’t understand the hate here. If you don’ t like Wayne, who gives a fuck? If you like him, fair play. The bigger picture is (as Tech fans), we’ve always said that Tech and Strange music need to be heard, instead of the bullshit that is heard on the radio. If he does a collabo with Wayne, that’s his biggest opportunity to be heard on the big stage and get his name out there, so people realise what amazing talent Aaron Dontez Yates is. It makes commercial sense to do this collabo and also produce beautiful music – which Tech ALWAYS does.

Now let’s say one of your missions in life was to get noticed by others, how the fuck would you turn this down? I sure as hell wouldn’t, I would embrace the opportunity and show the world who the fuck I am. That’s exactly what the Nina is about to do, and I applaud the guy.

It’s strange (no pun intended) how an entertainer (which Tech N9ne is, regardless of how many people want to deify him) can complain about his fans not liking The Lil Wayne Collabo. Tech N9ne is a entertainer not Martin Luther King Jr. WITHOUT fans Tech would be exactly what he is WITH fans, jus a human being. If you make a living off of entertaining, I think people can say whatever they want about what you do especially if they buy everything you put out and will love it regardless of the quality. I’ve heard a large number of Tech N9ne fans say that Gates Mixed Plate wasn’t a good album as well as the song Bad Season. Automatically most Tech N9ne fans will assume those people are “haters”. However all these people love everything ELSE he’s ever done as well as never missed a show when he comes to our area, EVER. Even 2pac, Biggie, Eminem etc. made wack songs/ albums. I think the most important thing to pay attention to isn’t the actual collabo w/ Wanye but how his fans are reacting and the future effect of said collabo. I think Tech is going to lose alot of his core fan base in the next 5 years simply because his career IS going to change and people don’t like change especially if it’s perceived as mainstream. Plus it’s difficult to effectively change your image/content when you self proclaim yourself as the “King Of Darkness” and your music has been mostly dark your entire career, then try to market “partying in the light.” Thats like Ozzy Osbourne changing his image/content to something more sunshiney. I heard some1 post an accurate quote about Gates Mixed Plate. They said it, “sounded like an album that’s 80% strip club songs and seemed like filler material w/ the exception of 3 songs”. My main point is fans who pay you to ENTERTAIN them have every right to say what they like & what they don’t like. If some1/or alot of some1′s are contributing to you vacationing the globe & making millions jus for rapping on a stage (let’s be real people rappers aren’t neccessarily as valuable as firemen or doctors) @ the VERY least they have a right to voice the things they hate about your style of entertainment, PERIOD. Tech is a rapper/entertainer for Christ Sakes. His importance is equivilent to watching a great movie (It’s for our entertainment so that makes us Ebert and fucking Roeper). Also fans not liking The Wayne collabo has merit because of the below average music Wayne makes. If he does that track & continues to make Gates Mixed Plate quality albums/”partying in the light” it will equal Mainstream and disappointment for alot of fans.
