Tech N9ne SLAMS ‘Fan’, Addresses Wayne Collabo Via Twitter [Social]

Ever since Tech chose to accept Lil Wayne’s offer of a future collaboration he has received much negative feedback from his diehard fan base. Many fans identify Tech as a voice of the underdog and view a collaboration with Wayne as “selling out.” Some simply do not like Lil Wayne as an MC and think that a collaboration would be a disservice to Tech’s skills as a mic controller. For whatever reason, the backlash has been immense. Tech, seemingly fed up with it all, decided to air out his opinion on the matter on his Twitter.

First Tech forwarded his followers a message he received from a fan:

“Fwd: Ur gna lose ur uniqueness if u do a song wit wayne and a lot of ur fans…bad mooove….. < beautifuL>”


Tech’s comments on the message with disgust:

“That’s the bull shit I gotta wake up to . Now Imma send Yaw my response to the bitch”

Tech then forwards his response:

“Fwd: Fuck you and the fans who talk shit bout my blood homie.”
“Fwd: How the Fuck you gonna come to an up close and personal tech show and see all that emotion and uniqueness then turn right around an …” (Tech often tweets beyond the word limit)
“38 years of weird and raw cause I do a song with one of the biggest rappers in the world. Fuck you and all the simple minded mutha fuc …”

The fan replied to this, which Tech forwarded to his followers:

“Fwd: Saying u might lose ur creative message through ur audience < beautifuL>”

Tech responds:

“Fwd: Fuck you AND my creative message!“

Here Tech seems to be saying that the perception of his creative message doesn’t mean anything compared to what he wants to do.  Tech’s method has always been to do whatever he wants, rap about whatever he wants, with whoever he wants, whenever he wants.  Evidence of this mentality can be found with the release of K.O.D., an album made full of dark content despite pressure to continue his commercial hot streak that started with Killer and continued with Sickology 101. If Tech caved into the pressure, and chose not to collaborate with Lil Wayne because of angry fans, then in all reality he would be going back on what he’s always stood for: complete artistic freedom.  Tech goes on to hypothesize where the cited fan’s anger is really coming from:

“Fwd: Fuck last night bitch just cause you couldn’t Fuck me you mad?“

Kutt Calhoun shared his two cents on the matter:

“@TechN9ne ppl dnt understand shit do they? Strange musics uniqueness will b brought to the forefront on a national level n continue to fly!!”

Fans have come out  in droves on his Twitter account to support Tech in his moment of frustration.

    Ok-Ive known tech for quite a while-And I can totally see how this collabo will ruffle the feathers of the crows in his flock, but come on-Is Tech better than Lil Wayne-It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see Techs live show is treamediously better-his songs are unqiue and powerful-while wayne sounds like a drugged up black guy who raps because he thinks he should-when in all fairness-is better off going pop because that is what most of his music sounds like. Look at it this way. First there was Tupac-every body and their brother tried to be gangster rappers after him;Then was 50 cent, still gangster rapper but brought the music to the clubs in a big way; now it’s lil wayne who is exploiting talking bout being a druggy and a Blood to drive up sales through his drunkered rhymes-REALLY IS THIS WHAT WE’VE COME TO. We basically went from tupac-the modern day Martin Luther-To Wayne-Flavor Flav on Steroids. What I am getting at is this-Tech has been ahead of the curb for years butwithout any true “Home invasion” your MTV vids, Televised live concerts ect. By collabing with Wayne- not only do I KNOW Tech’s verse will be better than Waynes by a mile-But by beating the “best” Tech will be fully exposed to the global population who is not yet familiar with Tech N9ne. Think of it like the torch is being passed-and not to some shmuck who sucks but an entrepenure in the industry who’s main goal is to deliver real music to real people who feel like the world could be alot better right now. And honnestly this is the time to do it-because outside of the music industry-The REAL WORLD-the economy is fucked, people a struggling now more than ever and alot of people are either really pissed off or hella depressed-0mg I know who make music related to those topics…

    I myself am not too thrilled about the collaboration as a fan. But I do realize that I’m not Tech N9ne or Lil Wayne so I have absolutely no business trying to get mad over his career choices. Besides the song hasn’t been released yet and could turn out to be one of the best. Everybody told me K.O.D. sucked ass, but I listened to it for the first time 6 months after its release and I couldn’t figure it out why ppl said it sucked. I realized then, that it was just the fans being mad that he didn’t make another anghellic or absolute power. Tech N9ne has grown as an artist, just the same as we have grown as fans. i expected K.O.D. to be exactly what it was so I was happy with it. So I will also make my own judgment about the collabo with Wayne, who has also grown as an artist. If it sux, I’ll be mad, if it doesn’t, good job. Last I checked we were fans not career managers. Let Tech be tech and if you don’t like it don’t be a fan. By the way, Seepage was an instant classic too. Keep it up Tech, you haven’t disappointed me once yet.

I have to be the type to listen to the lyrics as well as the overall sound.     Personally, I think Tech and Wayne doing a collab together would be a beautiful thing. You got two different sounds comming from those two people, and i believe that if you mix those two sounds CORRECTLY, you would come out on top with some very gorgeous music.     I’m surprised that these retard haters are a surprise to Tech or anybody at Strange at all. When they were coming up hard on the national touring scene they spent a significant amount of time with Psychopathic Records and their founders, Insane Clown Posse. ICP has always been scrutinized by the mainstream media but even more so by their fans – I am certain that ICP told Tech during at least one conversation about the droves of queerbos saying that they “SOLD THE FUCK OUT” every goddamned time they did anything to advance their careers be it collaboration, media exposure, festival performances, or community outreach.

He’s hopping on the same bangvwagon that the large majority of rappers of the last decade landed on – doing a song with either t-payne or lil wayne. Tech’s style will be watered down by wayne’s bullshit, purple potion- i’ll rap about anyfucking thing as long as it rhymes steez.     Let me just say that Tech is one of my favorite artists.. Lil Wayne is one of my favorite artists. It is normal for artists to make songs that not everyone like, but shit appreciate the fact that they are trying. When talented artists come together there is nothing better than that! Doing a song with a rapper that isnt underground or independent isnt selling out for all those dumb fucking idiots. Tech will still do him. AND if he comes out from underground, FUCK IT, more fans for him more power to him, he deserves it! I think it is badass that he is doing songs with wayne, yelawolf, tpain, and eminem! Seriously dumb fucks, Tech will still go hard no matter what. Congrats Tech for working your ass off and doing what YOU want.     Honestly on the Gates Mixed Plate album; I loved it. Why was anyone surprised what it came out to be? Tech even said this one was gonna be about havin’ fun and lighting up the mood. I would get bored of Tech if all he did was serious and heartfelt shit. Think about it; if ur partying or at a club u could play over half that album because that’s what it’s meant to be for. Just because it’s “85% strip club music” or wutever the fuck you wanna call it doesn’t mean it’s mainstream. His lyrical ability and flow still shines through in his songs; and don’t tell me his older party jams like Caribou Lou, Bout ta’ Bubble, and Riotmaker didn’t make you bob ur head. That’s the beautiful thing about his music; he can do just about any type of rap song/mood in my opinion and I still love it. And quit bitchin bout his collabs peeps. Nobody likes every artist’s songs or decisions anyway. I personally didn’t like King Gordy’s verse on Horns (K.O.D.) becuz I believe strongly in my religion but just becuz of some collab or content is not gonna make me say “Hey, u fucked up with this one song and u ain’t doin it right.” Ur not him so let him be.
