NOW Magazine of Toronto caught up with Tech N9ne to discuss the Quincy Jones “We Are The World” remake. Tech defends Quincy’s new edition of the famous Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie collaboration, now featuring Justin Bieber, T-Pain, and Lil Wayne. Tech also goes on to cite advice that Quincy Jones gave him early in his career and has been guiding him ever since: “rap what you know, and people will forever feel you.” The burden of this philosophy sometimes weighs on Tech N9ne, especially when he’s tackling the dark subject matter found on K.O.D., but he insists it’s the only way he knows how to write: “I wish I wasn’t so real sometimes, but this is what I know.
